Privacy policy
The Why Side Analytics is a private, read-only tool used by the owner of The Why Side YouTube channel. It does not offer sign-in or analytics access to website visitors.
Google data we access
With the channel owner's authorization, the tool requests only the youtube.readonly and yt-analytics.readonly Google OAuth scopes. It reads the channel's video list and metadata, public statistics, daily performance, traffic sources, audience-retention data, and available YouTube Reporting data such as thumbnail impressions and click-through rates. It cannot upload, edit, or delete videos, and it cannot manage the Google account.
How we use and store it
We use this data to analyze which videos work, improve future titles, thumbnails, and storytelling, and maintain historical channel-performance records. OAuth credentials and retrieved analytics are stored privately on a controlled server, with access limited to the channel operator. We do not sell Google user data or share it with advertisers or other independent parties. The tool does not use this data to serve ads.
Retention and control
We retain the data while it is useful to operate and analyze the channel, until the channel owner deletes it. The owner can revoke the tool's Google access at any time from their Google Account permissions; revocation stops future collection but does not automatically erase previously stored records. To request deletion of stored data, contact us at tomerico@gmail.com.
This website
These static pages do not ask visitors to sign in and do not set analytics or advertising cookies. Cloudflare hosts the pages and may process standard request information, such as IP address and browser details, to deliver and protect the site. That website traffic is separate from the private YouTube analytics database.
Google API policy
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

For privacy questions or deletion requests, email tomerico@gmail.com. We will update this page if the tool's data practices change materially.
